Making The Case: Antonio Bryant, WR, TB

Tampa Bay Bucs Wide Receiver Antonio Bryant had a stellar 2008 campaign. 83 receptions for 1,248 yards and seven touchdowns is solid fantasy production. However, where should he fall on draft boards for the 2009 season?

You have to love his recent quote, "last year was for the haters ... this year is for the doubters. When you have a year like that, you're going to get more attention. This year, it might not be about me getting the ball. If that means Antonio has to run 89 comebacks and that'll get us in the playoffs, then I'll run 89 comebacks."

Bryant is motivated. Having been hit with the franchise tag this off season, he is still playing for a long term contract. From a fantasy perspective, all eyes should be on the QB situation. If Byron Leftwich (or McCown) is named the starter, Bryant will be treated like a #1 WR. If Josh Freeman gets the nod, the rookie may struggle and overlook the #1 option on routes and check off to his safety valve. Bottom line, monitor training camp if you are high on Antonio Bryant.

MAKING THE CASE: Bryant should be a solid #1B or #2 wide receiver this season.
